@tweetsathome and @balticbake bring something new to independent eateries in Liverpool

Step through the door of the Baltic Bakehouse and you enter a warm and cosy world of sourdough. On a raised area at the very back you can see the bakers at work producing artisan loaves which you can either eat in or take away to enjoy at home. Select your favourite loaf from the range of wooden crates arranged along the right hand side as you walk into the tiny cafe. Less than 10 minutes walk along Jamaica Street and you’re in the heart of Liverpool 1, but don’t miss the design-led cafe/ shop of Cow&Co. In a large retail space on School Lane, formally used by Jigsaw, you can find the latest outpost of Home. Home, just round the corner from the Bluecoat, provides simple fare in delightfully plain surroundings; there are school chairs and blackboards and the walls are a deep navy blue. A lot of the ingredients are locally sourced, including bread from the Baltic Bakehouse.
